We are a shop and gallery committed to promoting cultural diversity and environmental sustainability while offering exquisite, authentic items to fit all budgets. We love world culture and value the work of small artist groups from around the world. Asian World Imports supports many social justice intiatives and is proud to give back to small communities in a variety of ways.
We support Fair Trade principles. Fair Trade is a market based approach to alleviating global poverty and promoting business which is good for the environment. Our products are made from natural materials by artisans from around the world. Please also share with us – stories of travel, food and culture, your experiences with us or anything else!
Asian World Imports was founded ten years ago and resided in Blue Hill, Maine. The inventory was purchased in 2007 by the Crowells and moved to Potsdam, NY. We are happy to have acquired a collection which spans 40 years of travel in Asia. The beauty and tradition of many Asian cultures is evident in our collection. We run a brick and mortar shop near the Canadian border in Potsdam, NY. Our shop is now located in the Victorian village of Potsdam at 1/2 Main Street and we invite you in for complimentary tea! Our hours are Monday – Wednesday, 10 – 5:00pm and Thursday – Saturday, 10 – 6:00pm. We are also happy to open by appointment.
